Women who work out of the home, putting their children in daycare, and feel justified in doing so, so they can have luxuries.

For that, they should certainly feel justified.

I haven't read all the posts yet, but have seen several asking about the author. He is G Craige Lewis out of the Dallas area. He had a hugely successful series called the Truth Behind Hip-Hop that went directly after those who were attempting to bring the Hip Hop culture into the church. He has gone after many of the "Golden Calves" in the religious world, and I do not beliefe that it is out of a personal vendetta. He seems very passionate about what is creeping into the church. He has been very vocal about Jakes using Steve Harvey and Pattie Labelle at MegaFest (he is not a big fan of Mega Fest in general)...especially as they continue their secular careers.
We showed the Truth Behind Hip Hop series to our youth and to our community, and years later it is still having an impact.

There are obviously exceptions to the rules on both sides, but for the sake of making my point, I'm not always going to take the time to name them all, and be politically correct.

.....indeed. The vast majority of women who work out of the home and put their kids in daycare do so to help make ends meet.

I think this is a gross overstatement. Taking our entire society into consideration, many homes have two incomes not for the purpose of making ends meet, but so they can afford luxuries (which they call needs), and women want to be financially independent of their husbands.
Sounds great, but its not a biblical ideal.
Within the Apostolic realms, I know MORE women who work outside the home who CAN afford to stay home, but don't because they don't WANT to.
I also know those who need to work, because either their husband doesn't have a job, they are a single Mom, or they really need two incomes to make ends meet--and I am not addressing them.
The point is that within the church I would expect more women to be following a biblical ideal and pattern for the home, and in fact, not only do I not see much of a change, in some cases, I have seen less of that ideal in place.
Now I am seeing the ante "upped", and [Apostolic] women are moving to an even more liberal line of thinking, in which men are seen as less spiritual, less important, almost unnecessary to the overall wellbeing of the home and church. It is feminism at its core, and someone has painted I Corinthians chapter 11 over it. Not only do I recognize that attitude for what it is, I do not appreciate a valuable passage being twisted to support said attitude.

Oops, I finally did read all the threads. I didn't realize that it had evolved into yet another LS "magic hair" thread. So I'll retract my input on the article.
Carry on, then.......

I do understand - it just reads so harsh when all my married life I HAD to work and now for sure I don't have a choice.
I believe God's perfect plan was for the woman to stay home and take care of the home, husband and children. We've messed up a lot of God's perfect plan!

*quoting for posterity's sake*
I don't know enough about TD Jakes to like him or dislike him. I do know that wearing an earring isn't enough to tip the scales one way or the other.
I'm not particularly bothered by the pointing out of negative issues. It does bother me, though, to see postings that are dripping with venom, sarcasm and malice, and it makes me doubt the author's intentions.
Can things be addressed in a fashion that doesn't sound like hate?
The Truth Behind Hip Hop sounds interesting.

I sometimes wonder if DA dreams of "holy hair" each night! He sure needs Cass to move to Houston soon, so he could start dreaming of her hair!
