The fact that they actually think this would happen.
The fact that they are using it to sway people to leave UPC.
...are two for starters.

I venture to say nothing would have happened.
The NCO leaders would be considered moderates within the UPCI.
And in fact several within the NCO fellowship are STILL in UPCI. Since it is a true fellowship as opposed to alternate organization like is apparently being formed in Tulsa.

Well, there's your problem you are looking at the ECO and we're talking about the NCO.

Really??? My little rumor mongering friend?? Your statement goes from folks I "have talked to"," he saw"
Don't know, or care to know your source. Kenneth Phillips, Jonathan Suber, and Wendell Hutchins are the leaders. They would all qualify as moderates within the UPCI.
This are good men who have dedicated their lives to the gospel.

Be careful who you slander Mark, even in jest. This are good men who have dedicated their lives to the gospel.

With all due respect....I think he is talking specifically about the people in their church. The "label" that gets put on preachers is not only what they preach (of which I would agree with some of what you say about them being moderate) but what they allow (standards wise) in their church. Whether this is a fair characterization or not...it is what it is. I do not think Thad was talking about those 3 men in particular...and something tells me neither did you. If you are comparing the church as a whole (NCO vs. UPC) and compare the two on every account....you might get where Thad is coming from.
And, I don't see any slandering being made.

Likewise with all due respect,
The posts prior, including the exact one responded to by "THAD" referenced the leadership.
If you want to change the topic to the congregations, between the three leaders, at the moment (although soon to change) there are only two churches, CoC and Promiseland. Both of these congregations would also be considered moderate within the UPCI, for large churches with saints in various stages of maturity.
I seem to recall even the great apologist of the UPCI ,DB himself, having a letter reposted in this forum about charges he had "let standards go" perhaps it should be reread.
In every sense, these men would be considered moderates within the UPCI.

I am sorry, not wanting to pick a fight,I have nothing against any of these men, but brother your comment is a little sweeping.
Maybe in some parts of the country you are correct in your assessment, but I can assure you that this is not a correct statement for most of the outer-most western states.
