To the best of my knowledge I didn't "intimate" anything! I don't know the other pastor so therefore can't comment on his church. I did go to college with Phil and he was my Associate Pastor here in Nashville for about three years so I can speak to him.

I forget the original Outlaw's name he was UPC years ago but came out during the 'latter rain' movement and belonged to the IMA. James Outlaw the son pastored for years he is probably dead now or quite old. It was a good size church for it's day. I just wondered who has it and what happened to it and what they believe now?

Sounds interesting. Now I am curious. I know very little about the area because after spending a week there (Scottsdale) back in the early 90's the only way I ever intend to spend any time there is at gunpoint.

That area is so ugly it is painful. I don't like the desert (however I do like dessert). When you fly into Phoenix it is just sad to see al of the dirt and rock yards with a couple of cactus plants for decoration.

The resorts are pretty because they spend a forturne on irrigation but everything else is desolate.

You're going to think this is funny...I was in Tucson last month and that's what I thought about *Tucson*. Dry, dusty, full of rock yards. I know that's not true, but that's what I saw driving around. And I live in Phoenix!

LOL!!!

I did really like that tourist trap old Western town in the Scottsdale area that had the steakhouse with live entertainment, the train around the perimiter of the town, etc. The food and entertainment was actually quite good. The name of the place escapes me now.

One funny memory I have is that almost everybody I met there was from Minnosota! There were a lot of "Snowbirds" working as van drivers doing the transportation between the airports and resorts, etc.

I also thought it was funny that at our resort all of the old retired widows and divorcee's in the area would show up at the resort night club / lounge trying to pick up younger men. Most of them had endured a lot of plastic surgery and looked surprised 100% of the time (their facial skin was stretched so tight!!)

There are a few moderate Liberal UPC churches like Bibs and Hudson.

moderate conservative are Hogan and McCarey.
Thad, I have no idea what I'm looking for. Let me take that back. I do have an idea of what I am looking for. A church with some good preaching, where people aren't afraid to shout and there's good worship of Jesus. Lots of emphasis on worshipping Jesus. I was thinking about it and I guess one thing that put me off about the tithing sermon I heard today was that I didn't hear anything about Jesus and the altar call was to pray about tithing. Going to an apostolic church, that's just not right.

Keeping that in mind, I'm quite willing to go to a church that's more conservative if they're preaching Jesus.

The Father or Son?

I met the son when he was our Youth speaker a few years back.
