My Father was the best cook I ever knew. He was Hungarian and our family tradition is Chicken Paprikas.

My mom was indeed one of the best cooks in the world to me and well not many did complain! She did however take cooking lessons for 2 yrs from Julia Childs( if thats her name I think so yep) my memory is getting bad yall!!!

She would make the biggest thanksgiving and christmas dinners yall have ever seen and invite the whole neighborhood over for them. She always had wonderful food on the table and oh how I miss her cooking.

Did I learn to cook from her? Nope me and my sister actually had to teach ourselves to cook as about the time we started to learn mom started working as a nurse and worked full time and then some for years. I ended up engaged and decided I better hurry and learn! So my sister had spent 2 yrs in New Mexico with our aunt and they had taught her to cook very well so she taught me and we just lived on mexican food and whatever else we could figure out! LOL

Better, thanks! My new meds seem to be helping level out my heart rhythms, and so far, I have not had the bad side effects that I remember from the beta blockers before. I have a lot of people praying though. This is a very busy time of our lives and I just cannot afford to feel like laying on the couch all day!

What state is Brisco county in? Right now we're in Columbia county, but I grew up in Marathon.
I think part of the reason there are so few good cooks in this area is because of it's German/Polish heritage. All the meat is fatty and all the ingredients are mixed up. A good meal, according to most of our seasoned citizens is one that is cheap and all-you-can-eat.

My cousin and her husband have a restaurant in WI named Brisco County Wood Grill, I think. It's somewhere near Sheboygan/North Milwaukee. I've never got to go to it because when we're in Racine, we never have time.

My mom WAS the best cook ever!

Everyone loved to come to eat at our house and her Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners were to die for! I can cook close to her, but there's still something missing - - her.
