By all means, have Scotty beam you down to a habitable planet and have a great life. But the Tulsa folks are demanding to be beamed down from the mothership to the surface of the Moon. No wonder the sheep are busy trying to find ways to avoid that Away Mission.
And there all a bunch of red shirts.

Recently a pastor got up in a church in SJ, CA and said they were leaving the next week due to people going to leave the Bishop got up and said they were staying.

THis is also true of a church in Bakersfield. A pastor saying they were going to leave until people threatened to leave. So really, it is not the conviction of the pastors in this case as much as the Pastors go with which ever way the wind is blowing.

There was an earlier thread titled, " How Much Information Should The Saints Expect From Their Pastors? ". It came out after Resolution 4. Those that were against revealing said info used their staus as UPC licensed, but their churches were not, so they didn't have to say a word to their church. These obviously feared what happened in those churches you stated.

As I have said many times on here... Some/a lot of these guys are going to meet with some trouble and resistance when they expect their church to go along with them... Baby Boomers, Baby Busters and Generation X don't just do everything the pastor says without question... And the Pastor will have a hard time convincing a lot of his congregation it is terrible and a compromise to allow churches to get the gospel out by any means necessary. (TV)
