Being serious for just a moment I respect EB and Ricos writings and what they write are true as to the origin of Christmas however there are many pagan things we use everyday...the days of the week, the calendar, and on and on...
I do not put up a tree but I do not condemn my brother that does. If it is an idol god as some would say...an idol cannot do us harm. They have no life in them. I do not see a tree as a god...I have never seen any Christmas tree worshippers however I have seen a lot of other things people worship.

Yes, I do believe the angels rejoice everyday for our sake that He came to earth to redeem mankind. They say and rejoiced the night he was born and I believe they continue to sing and rejoice not just one night a year but every night. The whole gospel story depends on the fact that He was born for if he was not born He could not die.
I have said before I do not think He was born on the 25th of Dec I think He was born during the feast of the Tabernacles...the date does not matter the fact that He was born does..
Hark! the herald angles sing, glory to the new born King.My our lips tremble with praise and our hearts beat with joy that among the millions that have never heard of His first coming we are so blessed to know.

just because idol worshipers at some time or place might use a certain design, that does not automatically mean that true worshipers must always shun it. For instance, figures of palm trees, pomegranates and bulls were incorporated in the design of Jehovah's temple in Jerusalem. The fact that other religions might take these natural things that God created and use them as symbols in idol worship did not make it wrong for true worshipers to use them decoratively. Anyone visiting the temple could tell that God's people were not worshiping these decorations or venerating them as sacred symbols.

Very fair assessment Sister Alvear ... I have no problems w/ those who choose not to celebrate the Christmas holiday on the basis of personal conviction ....

Live and let live [at least on this issue]

The Good News is that a Savior was born and can be born in the hearts of men.

And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord". . . . And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on the earth peace among men with whom he is pleased." (Luke 2:10,11,13,14)
