HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK

1. Open a new file in your computer.

2. Name it "Hillary Rodham Clinton".

3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.

4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

5. Your PC will ask you. "Do you really want to get rid of "Hillary Rodham Clinton ?"

6. Firmly Click "Yes."

7. Feel better.

PS - Tomorrow we'll do Nancy Pelosi

There's so much good in the worst of us
And so much bad in the best of us
It doesn't benefit any of us
To talk about the rest of us

My 2 rules to life. Part 1

In walking through the nieghborhood(forum) I see alot of disturbing traits. I am a firm believer that there is nothing complex about life, physical or spiritual. Most often it is us who make things more difficult than they have to be or should be. But I find that if we dig to the heart of the matter it will be as simple as black and white. "Grey" areas are places where we try to smudge the black line a little and thus make things complex not only for ourselves but those we interact with.
There are two verses of scripture that rule my life. The first one is :

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Sometimes that dreadful thing comes prying it's way to the surface when discussing beliefs vs scripture. That thing being pride. Which rides the same donkey as arrogance. I have seen points trying to be proved by taking two or three words out of a sentence. Using that same formula I could turn the Bible into a fairy tale, make a movie and sell tickets for millions. I don't seem to remember the parables in which Jesus taught being so complex at getting the point across. Most are childrens stories now. Why would the entirity of the Word of God be any different? Sure God tells us there are things we can not understand, so what makes these men of pride think they can accomplish what God has already said can not be. I get almost frightened when I hear those words " what this means is". (shudder) Saints, it means what it says and says what it means. I refuse to believe a God who "wants" us to come to salvation would make it as difficult as some break it down to be. The Word says the Spirit will open the scriptures to the heart and make them to be understood.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His rightousness, and these things will be added unto you"

Understanding the road to salvation comes from God , not man. Yes He will guide your speech when witnessing, but I witness just enough to get them to church and no more. "Be ye fishers of men, you catchem, God will clean them." I would not want to teach or preach a message to a lost soul that God was never ready for that soul to recieve. I wonder how many people we have had "hooked" after 5 or 10 minutes of God felt witnessing that walked away because it turned in to "I'm right, your wrong" preaching.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God".

Jesus told the disiples to cast their nets on the other side of the boat. Think they would have caught any thing had they continued to fish their way? I see post and counter post that pop up within minutes of each other. If the poster gathered his/her scripture of rebuttle to be posted in response and then STOPPED!!!! and prayed over it for an hour I wonder if the post would be any different? God caused men to prophesy, heal, part waters, etc. Why does it seem like some think that God can't cause a person to understand His will? If we would accept that, would there even be a need for "debate"? To me if someone believes differently than me to the point they are willing argue about it then my response to them is simple.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God"

I assure you I will

Tomorrow: That second verse that rules my life.

God bless you all and be happy in the Lord.

It has been asked of me on other threads, "What is my stance or belief"? I never dreamed I would be chosing a belief with in the realm of "Apostolic" Personally I believe someone, somewhere along the way had way too much time on there hands, anyway, here goes.
I have been a member of UPCI for 37 years across 3 churches. I believe in Oneness doctrine and Jesus Name Water baptism with infilling of the Holy Ghost as evidenced by speaking in tongues. Acts 2-38 is the formula for salvation with its power of salvation coming from the finished work at the cross. I do believe in Holiness standards, however I also believe it is Gods place to convict one of the life they live and not the church members place to point it out to anyone. I believe our convictions are different, each of us has our own "little gods" that distract us from our walk with Christ, therefore my convictions may be different from yours.
I do not believe the standards MUST be kept in order to be saved, yet I do believe those who do keep standards will have a more intimate relationship with God than those who do not, (providing they are keeping standards for God and not for there own pride) I love Jesus Christ and believe that love of Christ should guide everything from major, life changing decisions to what keys I type.
I give all credit to the written work of God in the Holy Bible. I do not hold to historians, books, website links or scholars. My grandmother once said; "Everything you need to know is right there in the Bible, If you can't find the answer then it is probably something you don't "need" to know".
I believe that Jesus taught in simple parables, so why does man try to make the Bible so complex. He is not a God of confusion, so why would His salvation plan be confusing? I think mans quest to uncover the "true will of God" is driven more by pride than an honest seeking of the way. I believe the Bible is easily interpreted through the Holy Ghost, after all its in simple black and white ( and red) . Its not until man starts smudging it that it seems to develop gray areas.
I also do not believe that half of what is posted on this forum about UPC is even remotely reflected across the entire organization. All dnominations have a few bad apples.

But thats just my opinion,

God bless you all,

Good post... though its a shame you have to "qualify" yourself by listing your beliefs. Some feel its more important to know WHAT a man believes than to know WHO he believes in. Its evident from your posts that you know the Lord... and thats enough for me to call you Brother.

I too have been asked, "Who are you" and "What are you". Who and what I am isn't important. Noone has ever heard of me anyway. It looks like people would learn to kook beyond "peop;e" and see the God they serve.

Well that is what I thought, but apparently the Apostolic faith is more "disected" than I ever knew, as a matter a fact I would find it shocking if I didn't fit in somewhere on here.
