Not always. Fear and expectation work into this, especially if the person doesn't know that hypnosis is a factor.

Let me tell you as a teenager I went to a fair and decided I wanted to try and be hypnotized. I was able to go under the hypnosis which I wasn't sure if I would or not. A few weeks or months later we were talking about it and my pastor over heard and told me that I should never go under hypnosis again because I was opening myself up to the spirit world and that I did not need to let others have power over my mind and body like that.

I was just doing it for the fun of it and never thought anything about whether I was opening myself up to the spirit world or not.

I don't like hypnosis for this very reason. It does unnaturally open up your mind (soul) which would allow for spiritual oppression. It's the same thing that happens with drugs. I don't think you should willingly participate in things that cause you to lose control of your mind, will & emotions. JMHO.....
