Much of it reminds me of the preacher on Disney's Pollyanna. The weekly Sunday morning beating.

What really inspired me to even ask the question was, again, the bobbed hair song. Do people need to sing such songs and hear it shouted over the pulpit constantly in order to feel like they are worthy/superior/separated/saved?

That is one of the most ******** songs I have ever heard.

I sing to worship and adore my savior...singing other than that in church is...I can't say it here.

If holiness is taught as separation from sin, then preach it as often as possible but with the intent of guiding folks into a closer walk with God with the empowerment of the HOLY Spirit.

If it's specific closeline preaching apart from modesty and humility, then don't preach it ever, live it. Visitors don't come back when they hear that stuff. You will lose them with it because that's all they hear and focus on, and they tune out the good news.

plenty of visitors don't come back when they see it either mizpeh.

When they see that we bridle our women with the law, it stops lot of folks from ever hearing the gospel.

Ever wonder why "our women" are saddled with the fast bulk of the law? TIC
