I grew up in Joe Parker's church, before he left the UPC. My dad helped build their building in Federal Way. It's sad to see them leave Wa. Does anyone know if they still hold to the Oneness teaching? I checked out their website, but their statement of faith was just vague enough to make me question what exactly they believe.
I believe they are still Onenes and baptize in Jesus name but like a lot of exUPC chuches including Christ Church Nashville and Mike Haye's Covenant Church in the Dallas area they do not demonize trinitarians or claim they believe in 3 gods.

They certainly built a beautiful new building back a few years ago. Felicity and I attended the dedication service.

My wife is an old friend but we have only seen them a couple of times over the last few decades.

We had dinner with them one night of the 1999 Nashville GC and a few years before that Jean spent the night with us in Austin on a quick visit.

I hate that we never made it up there to visit them and be in service. We had always meant to do so. Looks like now we will have to travel to Idaho to see them!

We had connections with the church in Boise, Idaho through the Cobbs, who were missionaries in Hong Kong when we were there. Bro. Nigh is Sis. Cobb's brother. Both the Nighs and the Rutzens visited Hong Kong while we were there.

When we first arrived in Surrey, I still belonged to Global, (ACOP allowed me to belong to Global since it was a US org. and they are strictly Canadian). Joe Parker was the Northwest Regional Director, so that is how we happened to attend his dedication service.

800 people...in Caldwell? I must have lived under a rock when I lived there. Seriously..that's like, a huge percentage of the population (ok, not really but it's probably near 40k population right now..an 800 person church is substantial...). lol Ok, after looking at the website, I must really have been under a rock. I should recognize the church, I drove past where it says it is several times a day for quite awhile, but I can not place it whatsoever.

Joe is a great guy and will tell you that if people can stay in the UPC anyway possible, to do it.

The Caldwell church runs about 800 people, just built a new building in 03.

Eddie has served on an outside church board with Gordon for years. He is an ex pro football guy and is a great man of God. He'll do well in Seattle. Joe loves the country - hunting, fishing, etc. He will probably love the area where he's relocating much more than the city.

If I could have life the way I wanted it, I would move my family to Boise/Caldwell area and attend the Rutzens church. My sister lives in Bosie. I love that part of the world. The mountains are so beautiful!!

I am from Eastern Oregon. I have fond memories as a teenager fellowhipping with The Parkers young people. We had fun & crazy times together.

As I understand it Joe Parker and Jess Parker are light years from each other in beliefs. I think Joe is going to pull out with the new organization. They are well known for their quizzing team.
