Canned goods from Y2K.... weeellll seeing as how I only had the stuff I would normally have in the house, I ate all my food by the end of that first week and went back to the grocery store...

I did just find a Tuna pouch in the pantry that expires at the end of the month, I better eat that this week.

I didn't stockpile anything for Y2K.

I do keep an "emergency" supply of stuff here though... just in case of an extended power outage, etc. Does that count?

Okay, clue me in...is there something in the article that should concern me, or referencing some event, that if it were to go awry, would directly affect me in some way, and if so, how?

After all, I read the article, and then happily drank the rest of my coffee, Splenda and cream.

Cool

I didn't stockpile for Y2K but I do try to keep a few extra cans in the pantry. I'm not set for a year or anything like mormons teach, but I'm semi prepared for just your general all purpose catastrophe.
Since I hate to pay full price for anything, it just seems prudent to take advantage of good deals at the grocery store. As in the occasional case of canned tomatoes or green beans. If it is something I use all the time I don't hestitate to fill the shelves. As an added precaution, since we're empty nesters and food doesn't vanish as quickly, I date my canned and boxed purchases.(not all vendors have a date code) It helps to rotate and keep the family safe from untold "germs"
I just put month and yr on the bottom of can or box. It has really helped me.

The article claims DST being early will bring on traffic lights not working, coffee NOT made (got my attention until I remembered I don't have mine set for auto brew), and all sort of chaos like Y2K.
