I've never heard of Pastor Appreciation month! How long has this been going on? Is is all religions or Pentecostals only? I'm a bit red in the face because I've never done anything.

Is has been going on for years, and it is all religions.

Then Sun. night they had different people (4 or 5, a cross-section of the congregation) talk about what the pastor had meant to them, and then they (he and his wife) were given a love offering (taken earlier in the month). One year we did jars filled with different prayers that people had written for the pastor, that he could pull out and read when he felt he needed encouragement. Another we did a floral arrangement filled with gift cards from all the places that he and his wife liked to shop/eat at. The personalized things are always the most meaningful. I'm sure your pastor always enjoys the dinner that you describe!
This sounds awesome!

Great ideas

We are having our homecoming on NOV.4 so we give Pastor and Sister Rivers an offering and a card.
If I was a pastor would I be appreciated ?

maybe since there are eleven more months available we could have:

apostle appreciation in November
prophet appreciation in December
evangelist appreciation in January
teacher appreciation in February
deacon appreciation in March
bishop appreciation in April
gifted in a word of knowledge appreciation in May
gifted in a word of wisdom appreciation in June
gifted in miracles appreciation in July
gifted in healings appreciatin in August
gifted in discerning of spirits in September

for sure, there would be plenty of good eating in that assembly.
