??????? I don't understand.

Apostolics have a long history of having nonAPs speak in their churches camps and seminars.

I'm not really a "Jakes sympathizer." I was given one of his books as a gift but have yet to read it. I have never seen his program or heard a sermon he preached.

However, I think some are overreacting to the Dr. Phil appearance. I was in a service at the church one of our "ultra-conservatives" here attends and remember a local "unsaved" psychiatrist speaking from the pulpit in support of the church's missions program. He then gave a large gift, was photographed and said, "I'm jumping out of my skin for Jesus...!!!" If I told you what church you'd all choke.

So there, is it a double standard? No, just a guest being honored, that's all. Hospitality used to be something OP's were known for.

My biggest quirk with this who thing is it seems like if nothing its for publicity and I just think thats wrong. I dont feel like its to support anything but the fact that Jakes is gonna be on his show so please watch me!!!!

That's probably the case; dunno, don't know enough about Jakes to commend or condemn him.

I'm just saying, we do the same exact thing when the circumstances suit us, and then hope our brethren or either understanding or better yet- that they never find out.

So many things are funny, though not necessarily a joke.

Some of us fall into this category.

All Pharisees need to get a grip, and all liberals need to hold on tight.

But, go ye and learn what that meaneth.

I would much rather listen to Dr. Phil in a church service than to hear some ungodly congressman or governor get up in a camp meeting and speak. Mississippi camp meeting is notorious for that; always has been! There is somewhat of a double standard.

I've heard Jakes preach many, many times and enjoy his messages. I don't have to agree with everything he says. My wife doesn't agree with everything I say but she has stayed around for 42 years! [I think she kinda likes me.] Seriously, there is a danger here. Some seem to cast out aspersions casually and with little care. You're braver than I am! I don't bat 1000 so I can be wrong and often am. I can't truthfully judge someone's heart even with what I interprete as "scriptural proof". If I give someone honor and it proves wrong I haven't lost anything but if I dishonor someone and it proves to be wrong ..... I may have blasphemed against the Holy Ghost!
