Phyllis has a point.
Quote:
The anti-parent animus of the NEA is apparent in its insistence that the public schools be in the driver's seat about the teaching of sex. Claiming that every child has the right to "freely available information and knowledge about sexuality," the NEA demands the right to teach children about diversity of sexual orientation and gender identification, incest, and homophobia.

Organizations do not form spontaneously [unless you espouse Darwin's theory's], people have to form them don't they?

Organizations are made up of people who work together to accomplish specific goals. For instance, our goal is "The Whole Gospel to the Whole World."

Yes. But when groups go bad, it's a people problem.

Would it be wrong for an Apostolic teacher to hold membership in such a liberal organization?

The answer is "yes". The NEA is evil. If a person had to be a member to have their job I think it would be ok but they should be actively working to change that requirement and also to change the NEA from within.

To change the organization you have the change the members. Changing by laws and charters and mission statements won't do it in and of them self.

I know several teachers. They say they joined NEA because of the 2 or 3 million dollar liability insurance that comes with their membership. Now I believe they can opt out of the national education assoication and join just their local association or none at all. This liability insurance can be purchased privately, along with home owner's policy, etc.

It's a worldly system. The term "evil" is subjective to how someone uses it.
