Just kidding, Rhoni.
Of course, grace does not give license to the flesh...as you well know. However, I appreciate your remarks above. It is insightful, not only of the Word but some of the spirits, attitudes and conduct of those that do not understand the liberty and power of grace, seeing only standards as a benchmark of true holiness.
That beautiful auburn hair had better not be cut when I see you again, girl. I will open my bible and preach a while....so be prepared.

Bro. Strange,
Many of our elders added rules and traditions that put a yoke besides the yoke of Christ that we were unable to bear. Do I think it gives us license to sin? Absolutely not...Romans will back me up on that one.
But all those extra traditions that many term as sin I am not bound by and refuse to be in bondage again to. And there is a list that I am freed from.
Holiness is putting on the nature and character of Christ...not the putting on of a jean skirt and letting your hair get split ends
As for me cutting my hair...I will continue to trim it..as I have always done except for 3 years in Florida out of submission to my Pastor.
I will only not cut my hair if my future husband tells me not to. Of course, I will not marry a man who has an issue with it
Blessings, Rhoni
P.S. Thank-you for the compliment though. *hugs*

In the 70s, I was living in Pasadena and often attending the church pastored by that tall Texan, Bro. Arless Glass.
Far from God and not really desiring salvation, Elder and Sis. Glass were gracious and kind to this heathen child.
Anyway, that summer I was there Steve Munsey held a tent revival and it went on for weeks and weeks. One night the spirit must have hit me or something...anyway I spoke with Sis. Glass about being re-baptized.
She explained that sometimes Bro. G would do it, but not often and for special circumstances...the person was a child and didn't really have an understanding...reasons like that.
I told her that I felt it would make me feel better, in my mind I guess is what I meant. Anyway, she did tell me that my first baptism was sufficient, but she would talk to him.
I suppose they were trying to do all they could to straighten me out, so he re-baptized me. Only thing was, the flesh must've really been fighting it because someone said that my hand shot up out of the water...so they put me down again!!
SO that makes three times I have been buried...but as dear Sis. Glass said, the first one was sufficient.
Glad you feel better...you are in my prayers daily, Rhoni...

Thank-you for your prayers Sis. Barb. You and your mother are in my prayers also. Things here are falling into place. I have an awesome job and it is on the high end of wages and I just moved into my own place. I love my church and Pastors...all is just about all right side up again in my life. The rest is up to God about timing...I am just relaxing and letting God. Things aren't always the way others perceive them to be...but God knows all.
Love & Blessings, Rhoni

Today I hear an awesome message, on T.V. of all places, by T.D. Jakes. The title was "Repositioning". A statement he made stands out in my mind, it went something like this: While God is adjusting us and making us go through trial after trial to get us into the position that he can use us as he has called us, we go through so much that God takes the 'judgementalism' right out of us. When He is finished we only have grace and mercy left in order to fulfill the calling he has placed on our lives.
The analogy used for his sermon was the way we train for an athletic event. If we don't warm our ligaments and muscles up then we are ill-prepared for endurance in the race. It takes years of training, twisting , pushing, pulling, to get us into right alignment with his purpose. When God says it is time he can do a swift work to put us into right "POSITIONING" for what he has been preparing us for our whole lives.
Training is torture but the end result is finishing the race a winner/overcomer.
Blessings, Rhoni

do you remember any of the people that used to go there? I was born and raised into that church in early 80's but my family was apart of that church before Bro. Glass was the Pastor. Does John Buchanan ring any bells?
