I agree- for him to be used at all; or even welcomed; I would hope that he had repented. The story seems to indicate that he "was never repentant..."
What seems odd to me is that there appears to have been people who were happy to sit under the convicted child molester, but when the new preacher came along and got remarried they left. It's really funny the way some traditions and convictions will trump other, more basic issues.
I agree.

There they can find plenty of fault.
there is no way on God's green earth that I would ever expose my congregation to the potential risk of an appointed leader that was a known sex offender....
if they wanted to attend my church, thats perfectly fine.... they can sit on a pew, under the watchful eye of an usher....
harsh??? perhaps.... but that person forfeited their trustability when they committed the crime....

Yes, God forgives, and so should we. But for one to be forgiven, one should be repentant. He blamed his marriage for having defiencies, I don't of one that doesn't
Still, no reason to molest children.
In talking to the Sun-Times last week, Hannah, 42, was unapologetic about his crimes, saying his first marriage had been troubled and he'd had "urges."
Twisp, two points to be made:
a) this person was unrepentant and definitely does NOT belong in a pulpit....
b) even if the person was repentant, they still have to deal with the consequences of their crime, which is the complete loss of trust and additional scrutiny (for the welfare of the flock)....
if you were a pastor that allowed a known sex-offender into your pulpit.... you'd deserve to be voted out of that church for complete and total negligence....
