Good stuff!

It all comes down to personal choices doesn't it!

Do you mind giving a reference to your first post - I'd like to read more.

It does, and an understanding of what the will of God is in regard to forgiveness and what the Word says about that.

Sometimes people don't want to know because then they don't have to deal with things in the right way.

Thanks!

So true! I think that it's also a sign of true spirituality. Doesn't mean that there's no struggle involved because there often is in getting our own will and the old man in line with the will of God. But making up your mind to conquer "self" is half the battle at least.

Okay... I hope you post the friendship devotional. I've been looking forward to reading it.

Regarding this thread; is there a book or something that you got this from? If so, I'm interesting in purchasing it & doing further reading on this. Please let me know. Thanks much!!

I think this thread would tie in good with the forgiveness thread!

Both threads are helping me have a different perspective on how others deal or don't deal with forgiveness. I've never had a problem with it because I don't hold a grudge, so sometimes it is hard for me to help others when I can't understand why they just don't move on.

I like this (& the forgiveness thread), too. They've been very helpful. Just yesterday, something happened that really upset me. My husband kept telling me to let it go; but I really wanted to do something - take care of business - FIX the situation... NOT let it go. But he kept saying, over & over, "Just let it go." So I'm trying to do that. I spent time in prayer yesterday, asking the Lord to handle the situation for me.

Anyway, I was hoping to read more on this subject. So, Felicity, if there is a book or something that you got this info from, please let me know.

It's been a busy morning and I'm tired! Anyhow .... in regard to what you said about your husband saying "let it go" ......

You know I'm surrounded here by books, books, and more books - some very very good ones.

I just put 10 on the shelf of one title and it addressed this very thing -- letting go - at least it was one of the things addressed among others of course. That some women are so into control and they need to let go of that. That they'll be happier overall if they do that. Just "give it up" and "let it go" so to speak - just like your husband told you to do. Good advice.

I take books home with me and some I skim through at lunch and make notes. I've bought a journal just for that purpose - so that I can do this.

And I have lots of things saved on my computer - resources for messages and teaching I've done in the past as well. A lot of things I have no "source" for.

Micah 6:1 - 16 (KJV)
1H ear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 2 Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. 3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. 4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. 5 O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

9 The LORD’S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. 10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? 11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? 12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. 13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. 14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. 15 Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. 16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
Bolded is what the Lord requires of us.
Underlined is what appears to be what happens if we don't meet the requirements.

I choose to act justly no matter the injustice done to me.

I am not responsible for anyones actions or choices other than my own.

I choose to show mercy when none is shown to me.

I am not responsible for anyones actions or choices other than my own.

I choose to be humbled in knowing that I have erred and sinned against Him yet He has shown abundant mercy to me.

I am not responsible for anyones actions or choices other than my own.
