It's a shame politics invaded youth events. Pro or con opinions about the res. has nothing to do with issues kids are facing. Kids are facing tougher issues than television advertising. A youth event is no place to make a political statement.

TV1A,
You should work for the Democrat party. They need all the spinmeister's they can get and you are one of the best!
The sad thing is that you are serious in your skewed view!

Chatoric Person,
Here is one possible explanation. I have noticed that anytime anyone in the UPC is for something progressive they seem to feel that they have to still prove their "street cred" as an "old time Pentecoxtal" to everybody.
Hence SG might actually be for the TV resolution but wants to show that this does not mean he has "gone charismatic" or become a "liberal" when it comes to standards, uncut hair, etc.

Even if Bro. G is for the resolution everything that was quoted in the first post is not contradictory of his decision. I hope also that if res. 4 passes that the people supporting it aren't counting solely on marketing to build churches.

That makes too much sense. Will never be accepted by some. They are going to have to see the golden serpent on the pole after a few years to realize that it wasn't the answer.
Convictions DO build Churches. And not just the kind that preach against things but they also need the kind that are convicted about reaching the lost.

What purpose is pontificating a tv veiwpoint to a group of kids? I don't care which view point said, it shows the pathetic state of the organization when a youth event is used to propogate an agenda. It didn't happen @ Rod Parsley's youth convention...

Troy, with all due kindness, Parsely is a trinitarian and didn't tell any of the kids how to be saved either.
The session in question was for young ministers anyway, not just all kids in general.
And it is funny that you guys think Brother Gleason was speaking against the tv thing...I would be very, very shocked to find out that he wasn't for it 100%.

It doesn't matter to me what side Bro. Gleason is taking. The television debate is a political topic. Tell the young ministers how to impact a community for Christ. Save the politics for political events like district conference, or general conference. TV advertising is the least of young people's problems.
ps. I did not hear one piece of false doctrine in 3 days @ World Harvest. I was listening intently for damnable heresies.
