And the biggest was Rev. Harry Scism told a ministers meeting today that the reason they are so successfull on the foreign missions field are because they have very open relationships with the trinitarian churches.
He said they have very close fellowship with them and as a result have seen many churches rebaptized in Jesus Name. He added that the only way to reach North America is to start reaching out, be friending and even fellowshipping with the Trinitarians.

This dear man is highly respected and I know his words will carry alot of weight at this coming conference.

anyways.......there you have it.
And for every "highly respected man" on one side of the issue there will be a "highly repsected man" on the other side of the issue that are going to be very bold also.

Friendship or fellowship with those who believe differently than we do or who are in error or just plain "lost" isn't a guarantee that we will win them.

But .... we have won people be being a friend and fellowshipping with them.

They are doctrinally wrong and I see no biblical way they are right with God. Having said that, it makes me no less their friend.

Dan, ole boy, I'm not isolated in any way. But neither am I deceived into thinking that they can be spiritually right if they are doctrinally wrong.

We cannot allow them to preach for us, and we cannot give authenticity to their doctrine by offering acceptance. You cannot win someone to your God, if they feel theirs is equal. At the same time we must be willing to open doors of friendship to win them.
If this is your definition of "fellowship" then I agree with you. I was thinking more in the line extending friendship as fellowshipping them.

We used to have fellowships at the church and invite those that did not attend our church and I can't recall them every being invited into the pulpit...but then again we held our pot luck fellowships in the basement.....

Bro D,
I think what Bro. Scism is saying is we need to be more open and less closed minded...
Plus...you cannot be more wrong.....we dont have tv yet.....and we have fellowshipped with trinitarians for years on the foreign mission front.
So it did not digress......
It was two separate examples of two separate issues.

Bro. Dan

Didn't those same men say they were going to speak for the resolution last year? And at Salt Lake?

I will believe it when I see it. Talk is cheap.

Obviously you didn't see where I replied to that post. But, then again, you probably did but don't want to acknowledge that one can not be 'isolated' and have a revival Church without 'fellowshipping' trinitarians.
