Good post, Brother Strange.

The Word says, I Peter 1:13 "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

Our loins as representative of our reproductive organs. We need to take care what our minds reproduce!

I also like Ephesians 5:26, on the lines of RevRandy's thread, "That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the word.

Does the Lord leads us into tunnels?
Or do we get tunnel vision because all we can see is our own situation?

In the Lords landscape I know of Mountains, Valleys, and Plains but I don't recall any scriptural precedent of a tunnel. Maybe a cave that ones enters and must exit to get back into the light........

Randy,

Another great piece.

Makes me wonder if you are being the encourager, or if we need to watch you closer for depression.

I don't recall their answers but I will say to you that it is all in the mind of man. What lifts man up above the the level of a beggar with not a worldly possession that he can call his own and places him in a prosperous state, whether that state be financial wealth, marital bliss, contentment with life, or whatever makes one happy, is the mind.

The mind of man his his spiritual organ. This is why the bible speaks so much about the mind. Let this mind be in you...renewing the mind...the mind of Christ...mind stayed on him...the regeneration of the mind....on and on.

Whether one is depressed, discouraged, melancholy, fearful, or whether he is so high with joy and happiness as to be bouncing off the walls has everything to do with the mind. The mind is the powerhouse, whether it be weak or effectual, of man. His energies and life forces flow via his mind.

So if things are not to our satisfaction, we can change it. It is a matter of changing the mind. The mind is like a computer, it will give us the results of all that we feed it. Sometimes, to get the end result that we want, we need to start reprograming the mind months and even sometimes years before we see the results of the change of mind.

Tunnel? What tunnel? I was in a tunnel that went under a river once upon a time.
Right, we do have power over our thoughts but sometimes we give in to them and then comes discouragement, fear, confusion, turmoil, etc.

The mind is a powerful thing and that's why Paul wrote this powerful scripture....

2Cr 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Good thoughts Randy. Thinking about dark tunnels and darkness these scriptures came to mind .......

Job 29:3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;

Psa 112:4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

Isa 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

God bless!

Just had this awesome scripture in mind. And really, when we go through anything it just points us back to what it's all about!

Romas 3:21-22 "But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;"

Just standing here alone it tells everything that is written before and after - the just shall live by faith!!!

I love how it says, "the righteousness of God - without the law - IS MANIFESTED!

They could SEE the workings of the NT taking place and making a difference, whereas, the law just opened up the knowledge of sin, but it couldn't heal it! They could read and see that the law and prophets pointed to this day - it is manifested!

What a powerful Gospel we embrace and one we are responsible to relay!

No darkness there!
