When one of the associate ministers in the church I used to attend married a girl from a neighboring church, and the soloist sang an Al Jarreau song, I about fell off the pew!!

I bought a couple wedding song books that looked good and sat down and went through the songs playing them one by one. They were all new to me and they were slightly contemporary but still very much with the Christian theme.
I chose 3 altogether. Nobody had ever heard them before and I received a number of compliments on the songs that were chosen and sung.
They were not oldie goldies.

I only had secular songs in my wedding.
Another inconsistency - in the 70's when women would droop their hair to make it look short.

This is why we got married in Vegas. So we would not have to deal with people approving or disapproving any "wedding details". This was in 2004.

What about these church folks that won't walk into a movie theater, but they own every new DVD released.
Good grief!
