I for one do not believe that spirits live in inanimate objects, like wood or rooms made of wood.
I have been in the depths of some of the most awful buildings for all intents and purposes should have been posessed, but because I did not give place in my own mind or imagination to these kinds of things, to me they were wood hay and stubble.
The feel you are having may relate to a similar looking building or room where you had a spiritual experience with people who were there at the same time.
Well I think I see the problem. I don't believe spirits "live" in inanimate objects either. However, I do believe they can "rule" inanimate objects.
One doesn't have to live in something in order to rule it. I rule my computer (or at least like to think I do) but I don't live in it.
I can not find any basis for having confidence that there is a spiritual dynamic involving influence or principality within inanimate objects.
Living creatures yes. Structures, clothing and even books. No.
I am open to hear what others say.
weren't the Temples (place) in the scriptures dedicated to the Lord, as to contain the blessings of the Lord....
some would say that inaminate objects could temporarily carry a curse or blessing.... the Ark of the Covenant (object) bought blessings to a particular house, as God's blessings abided with it....
The aprons of Paul (clothing) were taken to the sick and they were healed....
I personally don't have an official opinion regarding the matter....

Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing. ~ John Andrew Holmes
I believe the spirits can attach themselves to inanimate objects; we've seen it in our own home. We have had to throw out more than one thing that we brought in innocently, but it was wreaking havoc in our home. Trust me on this one....I know what I'm talking about. When it affects a young child as much as it did ours, it's real. I don't want to go into the whole story here.

I believe it too. I remember Bro. Mitchell telling stories about having to burn things he had brought back from India/Haiti as they seemed to have had evil spirits attached to them.

I believe you are right.
I've always been taught that spirits can come with the wrong kinds of music, books, games, toys, and more. So why not a house?
Brazil is a country of devil worship. My neighbor her husband was a feared witchdoctor. All kinds of evil things happened during his life on his land...There is a world of difference on our side of the land and on that side where his widow lives...
I could tell you many stories but some would laugh but my advice would be pray over each home you move in...Just as Jesus and His angels are real so is the devil and his demons...However LIGHT is stronger than darkenss and greater is HE that is in us than he that is in the world...
