If a Preacher is given to wide ranging exaggerations is he lying?

What makes a lie, a lie?

The Ten Commandments

Quote:
1. You shall have no other Gods but me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
5. Respect your father and mother.
6. You must not kill.
7. You must not commit adultery.
8. You must not steal.
9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour.
10. You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour.
Lying must not be that important as it is all the way down at number nine on God's bad list.

I lie, but not willfully. People will question me about something I said, or did. I will deny it. Not lying. I just have no memory of it. And then a several WEEKS will pass, and I will remember it in detail. Now, I don't go to the person and say "hey, I remember when I said or did that.. you were right.."

I have found that preachers lie and don't even realize it.

I was just listening to a CD by Larry Booker and he said, "I would like to speak for the next few moments on (the sermon title)."

He preached for an hour and in my estimation an hour is more than a few minutes.

But hey the Bible says "Jesus is coming soon" over two thousand years ago. It's all relevant.
