So this is an article referencing when I mentioned before about Jude quoting non cannonical text as Paul references common ideas and phrases of the time as well that are non scriptural.
The reason why I mentioned this is that if "truth" is important and the Bible is considered to be indeed true we must differentiate between inspired "God breathed" word and writing that merely references writings outside of scripture.

The issue about Michael contending with the devil over Moses' body is straight out of Jewish apocryphal writings. However, the point that was being made by Jude was about the proper approach to authorities. Even in the Jewish myth about Michael and the devil, the archangel did not bring a railing accusation, but said "The Lord rebuke thee". In other words, as Peter said, "if any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God". That is, we present what God Himself has said on the subject, and should not be adding our own personal opinions of disdain to it.
A lesson for us all there, I'm sure.
