Early 2000s, I was a student pastor who used lighting and fog during youth services and events. During one student conference, music was LOUD, lights were sync'd to the beat and I thought (at the time) it was great. Kids were singing and jumping and having a good time. A couple student pastors and their groups walked out, disgusted, saying there was no Godly Spirit in what was going on; that it was a nightclub, not a church service. I remember shaking my head and laughing with another student pastor -- some people just don't understand.

15 years or so later, I understand why the two groups left and how wrong I was. Now I feel the way the two student pastors who left felt. I don't want it in the church.

Brother Benincasa or Bro Esaias can explain it.

But in the book of Acts, they met from house to house.

Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.

Elders are taught and trained in churches that meet in homes and then when they are deemed qualified by the brothers they start a church in their home.

I think that we can do something similar via a standard church, similar to what my church has done. Instead of building bigger and bigger churches, start daughter works in nearby cities.

There are successful networks of dozens of house churches which have started with one and continued to expand into other homes and areas of the towns or cities.

This is the Second baptist church in Houston youtube it, they got all that stuff. When I first saw it I was thinking why? But, I guess if I went to a baptist church I would be tired of going to dead church too!

I keep thinking that the day might come when sincere saints of God are leaving institutional churches in droves, not because they have lost faith, but because they want to preserve their faith.

I was hoping this was fake news - the pics show otherwise. This is as wrong or worse than the song book throwin pastor I mentioned in another post.

Elders fulfill all the offices in the passage below. A true assembly will have Elders, (which fulfill the offices of apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers)

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

There are probably people who have *house churches* who are not in line with scripture and are just looking to do their own thing.

But I think it must be possible that there could be churches who meet in a house and are legitimate; who train up Elders to start another assembly in another house. I just don't know anyone who is actually doing that other than a few people on this forum.
