IS Fasting Essential????

What are the diffrent fast found in scripture?

Do you think "fasting tv or the internet" is an acceptable fast? I have known many people who claim to do this.

What if if you have to eat because of a medical condition, what would an acceptable fast be than?

In the sermon on the mount, Jesus spoke of some of the things His people do and gave them some guidelines on doing them

Matthew 6:2 "when (not if) you give..."

Matthew 6:7 "when (not if) you pray...."

Matthew 6:16 "when (not if) you fast...."

Giving, praying, and fasting are just things we do.

Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29 speak of certain things that can only be accomplished by prayer and fasting. Jesus said so. However, if you don't want to fast, just use a NIV or NLT Bible because they have left out the words of Jesus about fasting.
