You have to understand, I literally failed a major portion of several classes back in school because I would literally REFUSE to give "oral reports" in front of the class.
I failed a few English classes for the same reason. I had to go to summer school AFTER graduation.

Re: Homiletics?

Esaias, I strongly agree with your post. Do we put just anybody on the music or singing without regard to whether they have training or have practiced?

Do we study the word to “hide it in our hearts”? Why would organizing our thoughts and training how to teach effectively and efficiently be any different? There is a verse, I believe it is in Hosea.

Hos.4

[6] My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Sometimes I think ignorance is exalted in the Pentecostal Church. I don’t think the scripture is really supportive of this. Of course we should always follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. We should also prepare our teaching and organize to make the most of the opportunity to teach the truth and redeem the time.

I believe the homiletics would be useful for preparation and study. Delivery is all about letting the Holy Ghost lead in the dance.

Of course, I prefer wood floors (good for floor stompin') and if you brought out diamondbacks I would not run to the back, either.

ROFL! I have no intention of picking up any snakes any time soon. I don't have a problem with it though. Must have spent too much time living in the sticks, I guess?

Me either. Especially if the snakes are back there.

I remember a story told by someone about visiting a snake handling church. Who was that? It wasn’t Jerry Clower.

Anyway he talked about a row of pictures hung on the back wall of some saints who had “gone on”.

They explained to him, These are the ones who took up the snake and then lost their faith “.

Who was it?

Found it.

By the way, I'm probably the only one around here who knows the song that goes like this:

Praise the Lord I love His power, love Him more each day,
Jesus died right on that cross to take my sins away!

Some folks believe in holiness, they love to sing and pray,
They talk about John 3:16 but throw Saint Mark away.

Praise the Lord I love his power, love him more each day,
Jesus died right on that cross to take my sins away!

If you really love the Lord, you'll also love His signs,
Takin' up serpents and speakin' in tongues, the Lord says "these are Mine"!

Praise the Lord I love His power, love Him more each day,
Jesus died right on that cross to take my sins away!

Well, singin' shoutin' speaking in tongues, castin' out demons, too,
But if you really love the Lord you'll take up serpents, too!

Praise the Lord I love His power, love him more each day,
Jesus died right on that cross to take my sins away!

You've heard about the Father, heard about the Son,
And heard about that Holy Ghost, but Jesus is the One!

Praise the Lord I love His power, love him more each day,
Jesus died right on that cross to take my sins away!
