That's delusional. It is insane. It is a deliberate and open hostility towards the concern for the lives and well being of North Carolina's citizens.
Why pass a law prohibiting free speech, discussion, and debate on climate change in the state house... if it isn't real? You don't pass laws against flying reindeer. They are trying to silence the discussion, the open display of facts, and the obvious reality that they have been denying and misinforming voters about climate change since the beginning. It will only expose them for the devils that they are.
If the Republican Party has its way... and the environment does begin to unravel at the seams with freak storms, rising sea levels, drought, famine, and masses of climate refugees... anyone who has ever identified as Republican will be seen with an indignation equal to, or perhaps even greater than, that seen against Hitler's Nazi Party.
Because of this and other very real, and deathly serious issues, that the Republican Party is deliberately ignoring... the day will come when the word "Republican" is only whispered in private for fear of open public rebuke, revolt, and upheaval.
Every fear of fascism that conservatives have regarding the pansies of the Democratic Party... is actually manifest and realized in the Republican Party. It is perhaps presently the most dangerous organization on earth.

Yeah, tell me some more about Chomsky.
You realize that he was madly in love with Chavez, don't you.
Pretty much ruins everything else that comes out of his mouth.
Now you want to divert to "climate change"?
Let me give you a little fact about that.
Do you know how long it would take to return the climate to "normal" according to NOAA's own studies?
One thousand years, if we stopped greenhouse gas emissions, today.
Did you see that?
1,000 years, if we stopped greenhouse gas emissions, today.
In other words, it ain't gonna happen.
And there has been no link between storms and climate change.
Look it up.
Lastly, the climate has always changed and always will.
The Sun and Volcano eruptions are more of a driver of that than us.

Re: Libs are against free speech
More on the false claim Aquila made about the NC law.
The DEMOCRAT Governor endorsed the bill!
"""Gov. Perdue released a statement Thursday that gave a qualified endorsement of the law while urging lawmakers to develop a coherent approach to sea-level rise.
"North Carolina should not ignore science when making public policy decisions. House Bill 819 will become law because it allows local governments to use their own scientific studies to define rates of sea level change," Perdue wrote.
"I urge the General Assembly to revisit this issue and develop an approach that gives state agencies the flexibility to take appropriate action in response to sea level change within the next four years."""
Let's read the part in bold again: "House Bill 819 will become law because it allows local governments to use their own scientific studies to define rates of sea level change."
It [the bill] ALLOWS local government to use THEIR OWN scientific studies to define rates of sea level change."
That doesn't sound like banning speech to me!
Care to revise your false claim, Aquila?

The Republican approach is to laugh it off and discredit. All we can do is hope and pray that they are right and all the scientists that disagree with these men who are in the pockets of the fossil fuel industry are wrong.
Nevertheless, pushing towards clean energy and protecting the environment is again, common sense. Are we to go full speed ahead with the use of fossil fuels, expanding their use, fracking, etc., etc., until there is a serious issue? Evidently, this level of common sense is something that the Republicans don't have.

New Law in North Carolina Bans Latest Scientific Predictions of Sea-Level Rise
https://www.yahoo.com/news/law-north...opstories.html
What you're not seeing is that they threw out the latest data on the subject, prohibited it's use, and set in motion a way to cook up fake little studies by local quacks that will ignore the problem.
The inconvenient predictions came from the NC Coastal Resources Commission, led by a state-appointed board of scientists. Now, this was rather embarrassing. So, they have threw out the data from their own study and invited local governments to fit the bill for their own studies if they want to know if they are going to drown or not. Of course, the state will gladly assist with directing them to the right researchers for their local studies.
Not to mention, the legislation prohibited scientists with the state commission in North Carolina from being able to issue formal predictions of sea level rise based on climate change – for four years. We're coming up on that four year mark now. That's why this is getting some press. Let's see if they silence these scientists again.
Despicable.

This is the same ABC News story I posted previously, Yahoo just reposted it on their site.
Again, they didn't ban, throw away, cook up fake studies ... what they did was allow for MORE study on the subject, instead of using a flawed study. ""the prediction was based on measurements at a point on the North Carolina coast that is unrepresentative of the rest of the coast.""
They're not banning speech, as you erroneously claimed. They're not prohibiting anything.
And the Democrat Governor endorsed it.

Tell me what we could do.
The climate changers have painted such a gloomy forecast, that it does not matter what we do.
They have painted themselves into the proverbial corner.

A - here is your sea-level rise myth explained:

snippet
In the 11,400 years since the end of the last Ice Age, sea level has risen at an average of 4 feet/century

You can keep claiming whatever, but it's not true. What you're refusing to acknowledge is that your claim is false. There was no ban on speech. There was no prohibiting of anything except using a flawed study.
They didn't silence any scientists. Good grief, man. Have some honesty. The ban was on using a flawed study.
NC didn't ban or silence any scientists. They didn't threaten them. They didn't arrest them. NC simply stated, we don't accept and we will not allow a flawed study to be used which will cause severe economic impact on NC.
That's it. Period. End of story.
