We had 41 people come forward to be baptized Friday night and then 43 more over the four regular services for a total of 83 souls baptized in Jesus Name this weekend!

I was baptized many decades ago and have witnessed probably thousands of baptisms in my lifetime but it never gets old to see people choose to identify themselves with Christ in the waters of baptism and in His name.

Praise God! I rejoice for the souls who have been baptized in Jesus name!

THIS is awesome! I think this is what every church should do that outgrows its seating... send out people who have a heart for the lost, and support them as they begin. This would seem how the early church grew exponentially... they didn't get bigger buildings... instead they spread out, and pushed out into their communities.

My home church in Knoxville, IA never grew much beyond 100 members at any given time, but many daughter works were grown from that church. It's the oldest Oneness church in Iowa, and the source of many of the others in surrounding communities.

If we could get enough Sunday folks to move to the Saturday services so the attendance was evenly distributed theoretically we could currently grow to 5,200 in our current building. So no new building planned right now.

Our next step is a daughter work that will start in September in a small town about 15-20 miles from our town.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Two services?

How about if the Saturday people want to be with the Sunday people?

Get an airplane hanger.

LOL!! We currently have 4 weekend services. Two on Saturday (5 pm & 7pm) and two on Sunday (9am & 11 am)

I don't know if we want a sanctuary any larger as it starts to get more impersonal but I don't count anything out down the road. I think the next steps to handle growth will be these daughter works or satellite locations. Our town of just over 100,000 is big enough we could have at least two more locations here to keep the church within 15 minutes of folks homes. This is something Scupples on here and her husband have done in their base town.

Bro, 5,200 you won't know anyone outside of 50 people at the most. I mean 50 people you know well, and even less who you know personally well.

I think the United States is moving towards house churches, and communities of house churches. A town of a 100,000 how many people do you know personally outside your church family?

Keep baptizing them in Jesus name and praying them through to the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

We do have over 70 "small groups" that meet midweek, many of them are home groups.

Hmmm.....I don't know for sure but here are ones I know of;

1. Senior Pastor
2. Executive Pastor (soon to also be pastor of our daughter work)
3. College age Pastor
4. HS & Teen Pastor
5. Children's Pastor
6. One I can't think of the title of but something like pastoral care
7. I don't know if the outreach leader is part time paid or a volunteer.

Then of course a music director or pastor and a lot of volunteer leaders for Sunday School, hospitality, security, homeless ministry, etc

I forgot to mention that they planned in advance this time to start a 9 weeks foundations in about a week so those getting baptized can begin being discipled in an organized way.
