Re: Talmud

Ever wonder why their book of commentary is called the BABYLONIAN Talmud?

Re: Talmud

As a counter point, for the sake of balance:

Parts of the Talmud are quite tame. There are sections about seeds and farming, for instance, and how to interpret Torah regarding these things.

It is quite variegated.

But, I'm still interested in your statement, why should we notice the Talmud with Roman Christendom?
in addition to the talmud the Jews, lead by a pharisee council, changed the canon of scripture. changes that were more favorable to the pharisee school of thought (mainstream Judaism) and less favorable to the Jesus movement.
i always thought it strange that towards the end of the ministry of Jesus there were large crowds of Jewish believers every where He went. when the priest leadership plotted His death they had to do it in secret as they feared the crowds. when James (Jesus brother) was killed the town went crazy, they loved James. the first Christians were Jewish Christians, a Jewish sect. Jews were coming out everywhere to follow. yet by the time we get to Roman Christianity a few hundred years later there is a big divider between Christianity and Judaism. most the Church Fathers and Jewish leaders hate each other. so what happened? something is not adding up.

rome became Christian "officially" about 320, the process started long before. 200 AD (talmud) rome was fighting Christianity and losing. Christians were converting romans faster than the romans could kill them. pharisees were losing Jews to the faith as well.
who were the enemies of Jesus and the 12, rome and pharisees.

What I'm asking you is the correlation between the compilation of the talmud and the "official" set up of the Catholics. Also if your major is history you would know that not everything you find is truth. It is just their truth. History must be taken with a grain of salt, and an extensive amount of detective work. Anyway, I'm looking for the answer of my original question because it seems that you were posting that there was some kind of correlation between the start up of the official Roman Church and the Talmud. Is that true? If yes, then how?
