Re: Eddie Long now knows the Truth

We once had a preacher that judged everybody and let it be known he had chosen to be our eyes...lol...(his mistake) He and his family were so holy...our people got where they could not stand him....I often had to correct my children because I would catch them imitating that preacher to each other...."I shall report this to the missionaries...."

However the day came to the delight of many that he failed....and we had a meeting where he would turn in his card....(a custom) Brother Alvear was traveling so I presided at the meeting...I let him tell the people he was turing in his card....At that meeting I was the only one that cried! Soon as he walked out some were so happy he was gone that they were joking and laughing...
One of our little sweet preachers came and sat down beside me and said, "missionary, you are sad...." I said yes, for I was thinking about the good things he had done...not the bad..." Other than being judgmental he was a good helper to me...I always know if Brother Alvear was traveling and I needed someone to do anything he sure would try to help me...

He has been gone from our work for many years but I remain a friend to him and his family. Sad...because most of his children (6) are out of church....they were such sweet kids...

Sister, we are to live a life of respect towards Jesus Christ.

There was a young man my pastor caught stealing from his office.

The young man repented and cried to my pastor and told him he was extremely sorry. My pastor told him that the sad thing is that he wasn't sorry he stole, but that he was caught. Sister Alvear, Jail House Jesus usually (not all the time) but usually works as long as we are behind bars. Had a young man who was in and out of prison, and he had a hard time living for God on the outside. I was told by another minister at our church that the individual said he can feel God really strong when he was in jail. I told the minister that jail is where he will end up again. Why? Because jail is where he could live for God. Facing death, horrible situations in our lives draw us closer to want to get ourselves mercy. Yet, a man who stood behind a pulpit while he engaged in a double life without fear? When they are getting ready to close their eyes forever, repentance may just be too little too late.

When the bridge is out, it is time to warn those approaching. Not allowing them to drive by and hoping their car will clear the gap with a jump.

One thing I will say...I just cannot understand people who have no fear of God... Not that I am afraid of God but I reverence Him and know it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God....I have lived long enough to see judgement fall...a very solemn thing...very sober....

I look at the fear of the Lord like this. I owned a Suzuki Hayabusa, and a Honda CBR 1100 XXV. I would ride to early morning prayer meeting before work. My job was about 35 minutes from the church. I would do it in 20. One morning my pastor's wife asked me "Brother B, aren't you going to be late for work?" I said "no, I make it within 20 minutes." She then said Brother, that's a half an hour ride?" Before I could answer, her daughter piped up, and did the math "Brother D, that would mean you are going about 189 MPH?" My pastor's wife's eyebrows rose high, as she pointed out as what would be my words to the police officers when they arrested me and impounded my bike? Would I evangelize them? Invite them to church? Needless to say I got rid of both machines.

I said all that to say this, fear of God to me, is respecting him, understanding that He loves us more than we could imagine. So, with that love and understanding that love we should return the love with the greatest respect. Twisting the wick on a machine to hop up to 215 MPH was normal to me, but not to an Apostolic world. Speed limit is 65 70 MPH, not light speed. Respecting the words of the pastor's wife is acknowledging how much I respect God. Because even if I kept the motorcycle and maintained a speed limit it still wouldn't satisfied me. I said me, not anyone else. It all starts with me, because I'm with me all the time. God sees into my deepest thoughts where no one else can penetrate. My pastor's wife and pastor never told me to get rid of the bike. That wasn't required, just acknowledgement of breaking the sound barrier was enough. Yet the fear of God is respecting His wishes when no one is around. Who we are in the dark is who we really are.

We have to live this Apostolic life within before we live it without.

C'mon bro, who are you to sit in judgement of this man? You are no better than how bad you perceive Long to have been.

Proverbs 11:10 tells us that when the wicked perish there are shouts of joy, yet Ezekiel 18:23 tells us that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. The difference? Love.

Do you understand why they are shouting?

It isn't because they are hoping that the wicked are annihilated.

Ezekiel 18 isn't even the same thought as Proverbs 11:10.

The boys Eddie touched weren't joyus when they came forward to give their stories.
