Evidently you have no Dutch heritage. "Saint Nicholas" is "Sinterklaas" in the Dutch language. The Dutch brought the tradition to America. In American English it simply morphed into the loser form of, "Santa Claus".
So, essentially, the names Saint Nicholas, Sinterklaas, and Santa Claus are all the same thing.

Many Christians don't know about the ancient Jewish traditions and how they had great impact on the choice of December 25th when ancient Christians tried to calculate Christ's birth based upon their understandings.

My kids are always rolling their eyes at kids at school who say, "Santa Claus is a fairy tale!" My kids know how to break it down and explain how Santa was truly a pastor from Turkey better known as Saint Nicholas, how he was generous, and how his generosity inspired other Christians to continue to give in his name.
In our home, Santa is a notable historical "Christian" figure to remember. Not a fantasy. And the fun of giving gifts in his name and saying Santa brought it, with a knowing smile, is met with hugs and kisses.
I'm not sure why there is so much hate on a distinctly Christian tradition.

I'm proud of my kids for being able to understand tradition, symbolism, and the greater meaning behind traditions like Santa. Evidently, my kids are brighter than most. lol

Re: Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus:
From a non-affiliated Pastor on FB:
"""You may not feel threatened by the lie of "st. Nick". But God does hate the deeds of the NICK ALATIONS. His name is not coincidental. If that is the case you arnt thretened by lies and fables, the word is very clear on all this. I'm not preaching against PERSONAL convictions, I am referring to idolatry plain and simple. However it is hard for some to destroy the family idols."""
"""The word “Christmas” is derived from the English word “Christemasse”, which literally means Jesus Christ’s mass. Mass means dissmiss, hence dismissal of Christ."""
Yes, he was serious.

No it is not, it is a pagan tradition.
you obviously want to keep on defending a lie.
