Re: Election 2016: The Powerful vs. The People
BTW, final voter turnout numbers: 55.4% - the LOWEST in 20 years.

While there are "true believers" in every camp, most Trump supporters I know in real life see him as a tool they are using. They are fully aware of what he is, but don't care. If Mickey Mouse was the nominee or Larry the Cable Guy they would have supported them all the way like they have with Trump.
THIS is the mistake the neverTrump GOP crowd is making, they don't seem to realize fully that Trump himself is irrelevant to the bulk of his actual supporters. To put it bluntly, the peasants are marching towards the Bastille with unhappy thoughts and bad attitudes. If Trump dumps the populist agenda, the dirt people will march on. This election was and is significant, way beyond Trump or anything remotely approaching what all of us have known as "politics".
This nation is on the edge of full blown civil war, like 1861 redux only worse, with no geographic battle lines. Perhaps closer to 1789 France, actually.
Christians need to be prepared for the next phase. This election should be teaching us we must rally behind Christ, and Christ alone, cause NOBODY BUT CHRIST will save us and heal our land.

#NeverTrump simply meant we were never going to vote for him. It means nothing beyond that point.

It isn't a problem. It was pure and simple unfettered democracy in action. A set of people didn't like him, didn't vote for him, he won anyway and we move on. It isn't complicated.

This is quite plain to see. The "no geographical battle lines" perhaps is the most worrisome thing.

Democracy itself is now at stake, with the people who didn't get their figure elected, wanting to do away with electoral college, and no telling what else they will demand.

The subject comes up during every election.

The Never Trump crowd made no mistake in misunderstanding the movement. They disapproved of him as much as they did the group marching on the Bastille with their bad attitudes. They could not support the candidate as well as the "lets blow it all up" chant of the peasants.

So the nevertrumpsters are in favour of maintaining the status quo and playing "it's our turn" politics, as the national Uniparty continues riding the gravy train?
lol
Sounds about right.
