No, the stats do not check.
So many holes in these studies.
But, it takes so long to go through the methodologies, to find where the bias was injected.
I can point out the obvious issues, but there are so many studies trying to prove their points.
And usually financed by the feds.
Studies are usually done by eager college students "helped" by their professors.

Re: Keep beating the drum
Well, it is MSN, so what do you expect? The article tries to make a "boo-hoo" case for people getting tickets, and not being able to afford them. Then continuing to drive when their license is revoked. Hello, McFly! There is no Constitutional "right to drive". If his license was revoked, he SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DRIVING!
If you get a ticket, take care of it. I've got a few tickets over the years, for having a little bit of a lead foot. I've dealt with them. I've even had a couple tickets for not having insurance, because I just couldn't afford it at the time, I still dealt with them. Letting them build up and fester, is the problem, not the tickets themselves.
Also - so far as Castille goes - while it appears he did have a conceal carry permit, it seems it may no longer have been valid. As someone trying to get my own CCW license, if you change addresses, you must report that within a certain period of time. He didn't just change addresses in the same city, he moved to a different county, where they had no record of him ever applying for a CCW, or submitting a change of address to them.
In any event, while I don't know all the details of the stop (maybe the officer did react poorly or improperly, I just don't know), what I do know is this. If you're licensed to conceal carry, and you get stopped, it is imperative that you allow the officer to direct the situation. If the officer is at ease, and feels in control of events during a traffic stop, then it's far less likely that something will go wrong. As my pastor put it (who is also a CCW instructor), you don't even suggest what to do next after informing the officer you're carrying, you ask them how they wish to proceed.

Re: Keep beating the drum
ok, just lobbing grenades here, but Congress has declared that you in fact do have a constitutional right to "travel" without a license, or a license plate. for that matter--i teach people how to do this. Of course, i would not recommend it if you are a minority
it is also on youtube

i suggest that your issues here contain a bias, inevitably, and without a minority here to referee, all you will get is meaningless agreement.

Shaz - nice way to imply that I am racist.
You know nothing about me and to imply that shows your own bias.
This is a low blow and I expected better of you.
If you want to continue down this track, just let me know and you will be totally embarassed.

Re: Keep beating the drum
oh, i am sincerely sorry, but i did not mean 'racist.' i have a bias too. that i got something different from the article tells me that. so i din't mean 'wrong,' just biased. it takes two, or, three is better, to...verify.

Re: Keep beating the drum
The right to travel was recognized by the courts as including the right to drive a motor vehicle on public roads up until the mid 20th century or so. Then, magically, the right was converted to a privilege requiring licensing.
Freedom's just another word for more taxes.

Sounds like that's how free men act when in contact with the king's soldiers.
In America, today, anyway. Lee Greenwood was not available for comment.
