Those of you who oppose Trump seem not to realize what wave he is riding. Trump supporters for the most part aren't voting "for Trump". They are voting "against the status quo". Trump is the wrecking ball, an outlet for millions of Americans' anger and resentment against the national biparty. The new, angrier, Ross Perot.
And the Status Quo have him in their playbook - hence all the media coverage. They are using him to create ordo ab chao.
See, there's a new era coming, and the old order has to be swept away. There is the NAU and more to be installed, so the current system needs some "fundamental transformation". The System needs angry people to storm the Bastille so they can put their Robespierre into place. And, no, it isn't Trump.
Your grandkids will grow up in a brave new world unlike anything you have known, though you were told about it for well nigh a century...

Thank you for this post. It was very well thought out. Truthfully, I do not know how Trump is going to pan out. He certainly will not be worse than even a Cruz IMO. There are strong pros and cons. I see him being like Andrew Jackson (one of my favorite and least favorite Presidents). He will challenge the establishment but may not like being challenged himself. Jackson was like that.
Respectfully, I do not (yet) agree with those who say "Trump is Soros" or "Trump is the establishment", etc. I think he is a bit impulsive and does/ has changed his views on some things. His current mood seems to have him thinking liberal policy he once supported have hurt the country. If he gets the nomination I will vote for him. But the people who are riding his wave must hold him accountable.

I do not trust what Trump says.
Not because I do not think that he does not believe it, as I believe he does believe it when he says it.
However, he may later change his mind.
He is a supreme businessman.
But, "a double minded man is unstable in all his ways", is the verse that comes to mind for him.
With that said, I do not know if he would be better or worse than any other candidate.
I will say that he is correct when he says that no one owns him.

Now THAT is view I can understand. For the reasons you state, I can understand someone not having confidence in Trump for fear he will change his mind. You do not come across with the wild conspiracy theories that others espouse, such as, "Trump is a Hillary plant" or "Trump has no intention of doing anything he says once elected".
