Well the klansmen actually disenfranchised, brutalized, terrorized and killed people. They created laws to protect them as they carried out some of their evil-- for many, many years.

BLM has done nothing remotely close to this and it is not their aim or goal.

Anyway, McCain makes a good point. Politicians should feel the moral impetus to speak out against grievous acts carried out by their supporters. When they don't, they become complicit.
