Yes, Mizpeh! A young preacher was commenting some years ago to me about how Paul hit the churches hard with his preaching. I was so shocked by that statement. I said, "Listen, get off by yourself where it is very quiet and read his words again. He was so full of love. I think you have mistaken his heart."

I know he heard that somewhere and was just repeating it.

BTW, I really like the message by James Kilgore on humility on the POA BOTT youtube. I'm not a fan of loud preaching but when the message is excellent I can overlook it(usually I stop watching.) Im going back to watch it again and take notes.
Amen. I don't like the loud preaching, but when someone is so full of the passion of the message, and you feel that back, you can overlook it and get into the message. James Kilgore was always the finest example of a man, a preacher, a Christian - all of it.

I think you did the right thing PO... and to decide to deal with it later, privately, may be best. Sometimes it is easy to say "you should have done this or that", but in the heat of the moment, it is hard to have that knowledge.

It's the negative side of old time Pentecost that is discouraging. That's all it is. You can't make these people see past hardness.

Thank you. I think I did the right thing as well.

What does William Price have to do with this? I would never think he would say Paul had a devil.

I will get my chance to speak about this to him later. He said, in front of everyone, "we can discuss this another time". Anyway, the situation didn't warrant me going on with it as it would have appeared to be an argument.

The way I was looking at it, I was outnumbered by the men and none of them challenged him, so I didn't feel I should press it further. I can be submissive like that.

I will argue with him about it later in a one on one. You can count on that because he was dissing Paul and I can't let that stand.

In my experience, I see people more comfortable taking a negative view of God and His Word than seeing the beautiful power in the lessons. It can be challenging and also kind of depressing.

For example, we were talking about how God deals with us. One person was commenting about how God... let's see, how did he described it? "whopped up" on him for something he did wrong.

I said, "I would be devastated if God spoke to me that way and I don't believe He actually spoke to you that way. I've made plenty of mistakes and He has shown me my wrong by His Word. It came to me so gentle, I wanted to repent and do right. It doesn't make sense to me that God would 'whoop up' on a person."

But he insisted and I still don't believe it.

Just venting... I guess I'm kind of down today.
He's confusing God with someone else. God is the epitome of a good father.

Where? Where does it make the statement that Paul had a devil, was filled with devils, or had a devil cast out of him?

Sister, sister, don't ever miss the opportunity to help someone climb out of the pit, in which they were led by some individual who keeps his eyes closed tight.

I second this!

So what if the guy is 15 years older than you. He needs to back it up with Bible... and, besides, we know that ain't in there. I am concerned with what doctrines he may push that would lead people to believe other lies are truths.

God deals with us differently. I don't know how God "whopped up" on this guy, but I think I could easy say that there have been times that God has corrected me in a way that certainly felt like my butt was getting "whopped" because His correction caused me to see just how incredibly wrong I was.
