All over a knife that probably isn't illegal in the first place?
I am sorry that i was not clear, my comment was meant as satire.

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

How long has Baltimore been under Democratic control?
Seems like I am sensing a trend here.

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

Anecdote: We had some trouble with meth heads stealing stuff in the neighborhood at night. One night about midnight I see a car slowly drive by and stop at my driveway. I stepped out on my porch and started yelling "Yeah? Whatchoowant? Eh? Come on, whatchoowant?" Very loud and aggressive-like. The car slowly drove down to the neighbor's. Neighbor came out and was talking to them. I then realized it was a sheriff's deputy. So I walked down and apologized and told him I thought he was a suspicious vehicle. He just laughed and said he was waiting for someone to start shooting at him lol.

It pays to live in the sticks sometimes.

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

Can anyone blame these black people for distrusting cops? Can't justify burning the CVS but if I were black, I would be angry and I would protest. The man Freddie Gray had his spine severed and larunx crushed while in police custody! Cops keep killing unarmed civilians, mainly the black ones.

Live Coverage of Baltimore Burning

So amazingly sad-- But will the police who severed the neck from the spine of that man-- will they be held accountable?

Re: Illegal To Carry A Knife?

I want to remain neutral in this until the info. comes out, but unless the details have been leaked what is there to protest over except giving the circumstances. I think that the info that the police have should be given to family very swiftly. People's imaginations go all over the place and the man while in custody could have been struggling with an officer trying to detain him and it all is legit, but that is why they need to get the story out quickly. Why do people have to run or resist anyway. If you are innocent you shouldn't even think to run or resist.

He was already shackled and in police custody when "somehow" his neck was severed from his spine and his larynx was crushed-- all while in police custody. The Baltimore police initial response was that Freddie Gray was arrested without incident.

If the injury happened from the guy running away and falling on his neck, sorry if blunt but that's his fault.

I was stopped once by the police late at night for simply looking at them. It was dark, almost midnight, I was on the porch of a friend's house, waiting for him to come to the door. He lived at a "T" intersection, with a side street beginning across from his house. A car came to the stop sign and just stopped there. The car lights were really bright and it sitting there made me nervous. I couldn't make out the type of car or that it was a police car, so while waiting for my friend to come to the door I stood in the shadows just watching the car, wondering what it was doing. It finally turned and I saw that it was a police car and thought that was that.

I left my friend's house, got in my car and started down the street. I drove about two blocks before a police car came out of nowhere at a fast rate of speed and pulled me over. Another cop car turned the corner in front of me and stopped to block me in.

Anytime I've been pulled over, I've made sure to be respectful, keep my hands on the steering wheel and not make any sudden movements. The police asked what I was doing, and I told them. They asked why I was staring at a police car earlier in a threatening manner. The officer in the car sitting at the stop sign felt threatened, called me in and apparently relayed my car's plates and info so I would be stopped when I left. I told them I couldn't see that it was a cop car and was nervous, wondering why the car was just sitting at the stop sign with no traffic keeping it from turning and going on its way.

Apparently there was a call in the area and they were looking for someone armed. They weren't the most polite, but weren't out of line considering the circumstances. No guns were drawn, I wasn't taken out of the car or anything.

Point is my actions caused them to pull me over. I'm guessing had I run from them, things would have ended badly.
What kind of idiot cop feels threatened by someone looking at them? Did you have bullets in your eyes?

I was watching some videos after he was aprehended and it seemed that he wasn't standing on his own and his face looked as if he was in pain. I suspect that part of the injuries where during being aprehended. It is hard to imagine and impact less than a wreck causing his spine to be severed in the back of that van unless some damage was done before placing him in the van. There is definitely more to the story.
