Why does everything go back to the "War of Northern Aggression" with you?
I am sensing some unresolved bitterness, here...

Please don't play the "bitterness card". Exposing a bunch of frauds who pretend to be for smaller government is not a bitterness thing.

Correct!
However continual reference to a perceived wrong usually means there is some unresolved issues!

Re: The Rich Get Handouts To

seems to be the pre-eminent unresolved issue of our day.

funny, the premises from which we begin; "The rich get handouts, too" implies that the poor ask for handouts; when most likely "the Whigs keep them in virtual slavery (working "secret" trade deals that benefit no one but the rich, etc), and seek to be their source" is closer to truth. If you steal a man's living, and hand him a fish, you might characterize it a "handout."

I was not directly wronged since I did not live back then. However, historical events do indeed effect the present. Digging into the past to get a better understanding of the present does not denote an "unresolved issue". That's like saying a coroner has unresolved issues because he performs an autopsy to find out what killed someone.

The more one understands the origins of the GOP, it should come as no surprise as to why they never follow through on promises to adhere to the Constitution and shrink the size of government.

You completely misunderstand where I'm coming from. I draw no happiness from these events.

Re: The Rich Get Handouts To

I'm trying to figure out how gambling loss deductions favor the wealthy. I've visited a few casinos in my lifetime and it's filled with working class, blue collar types and people on fixed incomes.

Just more liberal whining about a non issue to decry the "evil rich".

Re: The Rich Get Handouts To

While I am against corporate welfare, I also think allot of the whining about "tax cuts for the super rich" is pure hype.

The top one percent of income earners contribute nearly 40% of all income tax collected by the Federal Government. The bottom 50% of income earners account for only 3% of income taxes collected by the Feds. So how do we give a tax cut to people who are not paying taxes to begin with?

And what about the child tax credit and earned income tax credit? Don't those count for something among the whiners? All of that is pure re-distribution, which the left seems to like. Yet, they are not satisfied with that.

Before anyone accuses me of being "greedy", let me share something. About 3 years ago I slid into poverty "officially" for the first time in my life. With a paid for house and car, and with just 2 kids, I received a whopping $8200.00 this year from the IRS. I certainly would much rather have a decent paying job, but I certainly won't turn down this cash. But it did make me shake my head at all of the left wing whiners screaming "spread the wealth around!". I think we already are "spreading the wealth", and it is designed to create dependency on government. I long for the day when I no longer qualify for these credits.
