I cannot help but think of the scripture in Romans 11:29 "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance."

It's because of their relationship with the patriarchs. The only relationship
that really counts today is with Jesus, through the gospel.
God does not repent of His promises and blessings; however, He does repent of
the evil man incurs upon himself.

That is the truth!!! Romans 11 says "because of the fathers". THAT is why they are honoured. But their old covenant is gone and never shall return, and the new one we enjoy is theirs, and we were let in on it..

hmm quite interesting that--ignoring the "national" aspect for a moment, those who have suffered the most tend to be the most graceful, and humble, and the humble tend to get rewarded. (There is some shorthand in there, so pls get the intent.)

amen. and, while i grant that this is for the entire world, and that there are some issues with CN, potential for misunderstanding/abuse, it still must be considered that this new covenant (which is really written "in our hearts," perhaps) would have a physical repository, so to speak.
CN is not meant for a club, to lord it over others--even though a "favored nation" kind of effect might apply--and actually, can be demonstrated in arguing for CN--along the lines of "if those who are called by my Name will hear my voice, and turn, i will heal their land."
So, it is interesting to follow the argument, at least--it outlines and provides compelling examples of when whatever nation became CN, and when the mantle moved to another nation. We would call it "the rise and fall of nations," so this might be considered as just this, from God's perspective? Perhaps

Re: Client Nation
ha well, the inception and rejection could be imagined, at least, to be pretty clear. No one much argues that we are in the decadence stage now.

We need to interpret (read) the scriptures in the light (truth) of the New Testament.
Just as the Lord's body corresponds to the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, so the
Body of Christ corresponds to Solomon's Temple. Even as the Tabernacle and
the Temple were both visible and physical, the Lord's body and the Church are both
visible and physical. Most folks can't see "past the veil" to understand.
