The Councilmember then addressed the concern that “switching judges would/could lead to loss of revenue,” arguing that even if such a switch did “lead to a slight loss, I think it’s more important that cases are being handled properly and fairly.” The City Manager acknowledged mixed reviews of Judge Brockmeyer’s work but urged that the Judge be reappointed, noting that “...it goes without saying the City cannot afford to lose any efficiency in our Courts, nor experience any decrease in our Fines and Forfeitures.”

I guess the racist cops are to blame for this kid j walking? I guess the racist cops are to blame for him putting the cop in a position to believe that his life was in danger thus forcing him to use deadly force? I guess the racist cops are to blame for this kid living the way he did? I believe a lot of cops are dirty pieces of caca. That being said, what was racist about what happened here? Other than the lynching of Wilson that the media and black "LEADERS" have called for?

Have you read through JD's links? I am glad the cop wasn't charged in killing that boy but there is some serious stuff going on in that city that needs to be addressed!

Yeah it's kind of alarming-- a predominately black suburb right outside a major U.S. city and the people running the city are abusing the citizens and it appears to have a racial component, further compounding the problems in that city.

Doesn't excuse burning the city down, but I can understand the people's frustrations!

The emails were awful. Unbelievable it took so long for these people to be disciplined. One was from 2008!!

The "focus on revenue" was almost wholly a focus on black people as revenue. Black people in Ferguson were twice as likely to be searched during a stop, twice as likely to receive a citation when stopped, and twice as likely to be arrested during the stop, and yet were 26 percent less likely to be found with contraband. Black people were more likely to see a single incident turn into multiple citations. The disparity in outcomes remained "even after regression analysis is used to control for non-race-based variables."
