I've been on here a quite few years now, and I'm pretty confident I've never said one cross or negative word toward you at all in all those years. But please allow me to ask this, because I sincerely desire to know, and I'll leave it at that, after you respond. Please give me a serious answer.
What is your purpose for being on this forum(besides "fellowship") and for starting threads questioning the authority of scripture and our Saviour, and what do you hope to accomplish within yourself AND others thru threads like that?
No answer yet, bro?

Very few have actually been unkind to me here. I appreciate it, and I have to say I appreciate AFF for allowing me to stay. As you know, there are many forums that would have given me the boot after, like, one post. LOL!
I'm here because I enjoy here. That's the real reason. As for why I post what I post, I do want people to think about what they believe. I want them to be honest about why they believe what they believe. If someone reads my posts and thinks "Hmmm, ya know, he has a point", well, it wouldn't bother me at all. If they take it to the extreme and exit Christianity, well, maybe their faith was never very strong? Maybe they weren't believing for the right reasons?
There is someone here that thinks my morality has taken a hit, when I left Christianity. That same person thinks I should admit that I don't know everything. Said these two things in the very same post! Do you see the irony? Boy I do. Broke my irony meter!

I think the main reason people view atheists as stupid is because they claim to not follow a religion, but it takes faith to believe there isn't a God, since they can't disprove it directly they have to take it on faith that there isn't one. Rather than prove their side, they try to tear down everyone elses. So they support their ideas using faith and violent aggressive discussion, belittling others, and loads of sarcasm and cynicism to make themselves feel better. They push their agenda more vehemently than I have seen most christians do. They all say christians are everywhere and they have taken over government or whatever, but I don't see it. I have yet to see one politician truly have the attributes of god. You will know a tree by the fruit that it bears, and no one I have seen has bore any good politically without corruption.
Another thing is the train of logic they use to argue why the bible is false. The fact that it was written by man thousands of years ago or that it was changed by constantine (which I guess they believe constantine traveled to the dead sea and dug up the scrolls and rewrote those as well), then when they try to back science the first thing they do is dredge up links to reports and scientific studies written by who?? You guessed it... men. If they expect the christian to call god out of the sky and have him perform a miracle or something in front of them to believe, they should hold themselves to the same standard, they should have to go and dig a fossil themselves, carbon date it and do so multiple times to form a pattern and provide proof. See it for themselves They need to be able to break down every aspect of the scientific theory they support and show it to me first hand. Thats what they expect the christian to do so why shouldn't they? They will believe anything that is written by the top scientist that they idolize, be it hawking or tyson or whomever has enough celebrity with scientists for them to worship. Bible states we worship that which we yield our members to. If we wake up all day caring only about one thing, thats what we worship. For most of the world, they worship themselves, and the act of being humbled and realizing theres more scares and convicts them beyond belief so they shut it out and fight as hard as they can to disprove it. Either that or they are angry at God for some past occurence they can't get over. Which again they would never admit because then that would show weakness, and they are too proud to do that. Which again makes no sense, how can you be angry at the idea of a God that you don't even believe exists? You'd think they would be sound in their belief enough not to need the validation of someone denying christ to appease them.
God is not the author of confusion, there should be no division in the church and he said you will know my people because they will all speak of one accord. In accordance with Gods will.
Principalities have done a wondermus job of shifting the christian perspective to tolerance and acceptance, when the bible expressly states that the objective is repentance and the shedding of carnal tendencies to become one with god. How can you continue in spirit but live in the flesh? Its one or the other, we can't serve two masters. He who is a friend of the world is at enmity with God.
Back to what you said, it's horrible that they call Atheists stupid and its misguided. Because christians shouldn't hold that animosity towards anything but satan and sin. Atheists are not stupid, they are simply misguided or stuck in their own belief and have never been shown truthfully anything else. They make judgements based on what they are given and the bible says,
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Pride makes us do stupid stuff, makes us say foolish things, and makes us care only for ourselves, and if the atheist has one thing in abundance it's pride. (but that applies to pretty much all unsaved peoples, so I guess I'm trying to say I feel the same way about atheists as I do all unbelievers, sorrow for their plight and pity for the situations they are in with no understanding of why things are happening to them. Not that they are any less than I because I was the same way, said the same things, if not more so and more violently because I was into asatru, norse neo-paganism, before I became christian. So you can't harbor hate for someone you understand, just feel sad because they are trapped where you were.)
My husband (Atheist) says that the burden of proof is on Christians, that he is under no obligation to prove that something doesn't exist. i.e. prove that there is not an invisible non-corporeal dragon living over Idaho.
I don't think that any of us believe that this dragon actually exists, but how would we prove that it doesn't?
So to say that someone is stupid because they do/don't believe in the great Idahoan dragon is just kind of ridiculous.
No one can prove the existence of God to another. (I hope I haven't single-handedly destroyed the entire apologetic's genre...) God can only make Himself known to them. And what right do we have to call someone stupid because God hasn't done so yet. (I could probably throw in something here about not calling "stupid" what God has called "made in His image....)
Oh and BTW...

That would be good and well if he would allow the bible as evidence. But most Atheist will not accept it, and if we cannot use our literature to prove God, by Atheists own logic they have become a hypocrite. Because the only evidence they provide is links and research papers and so on and so forth. So if the bible cannot be used as proof because man lies, or could have changed it... How then can they use research papers and lessons and notes taken by man, whom lies and could have changed it as proof?
And the burden of proof falls on the Atheist just as much, because if I have to prove my God, they need to prove their science, with actions and see for themselves, not blindly believe what a scientist spews forth.
And I do not believe that I called any atheists stupid. I said "the reason people view atheists as stupid." Later on, I said that being said I do not think they are stupid, just misguided, and do not even understand their own beliefs, let alone begin to comprehend Christianity.
