Why are liberals so sympathetic to Islam???

Here is my take on it. There are billions of Muslims in the world. So even if you say that small majority of radical terrorists, that numbers still represents a good chunk of people. I'd like to know what is being done about the 35,000 to 40,000 prisoners, mainly minorities, that are being converted to Islam while in prison. I'd like to know why the guards at one particular Texas prison are Nigerians, who are Muslims and not Americans. I'd like to know how many prisons in this country are run the same way.

I have started studying Islam for my own personal knowledge lately. It has been really very interesting. I would say that Islam is like Christianity in that there are very liberal factions and very conservative extremist camps. The liberal factions seem like a very good religion who also condemn the extremist factions. Maybe the liberals are sympathizing with the liberal factions.

ILG, If you would, please share what you found interesting. Unless, your point is that every religion has three factions - conservative, moderate and liberal. I found that to be true when studying Judaism.

One thing I found to be interesting concerning Mohammad, is that he didn't become militant until he had a huge following. He borrowed text from Judaism and Christianity, adding in his own slant to things.
