Re: IRS and the "Lost" Emails

Been exempt for over 15 years now, have no plans to start using the system now.

As far as SSI is concerned, I doubt it will be around when I plan on retiring, it is just a supplement anyway. Or is supposed to be...

Have many more investments that I will retire with.

IRS is crooked, the whole system is crooked.

First, the IRS expects us to believe that the government which follows every single email, text and phone call can't retrieve these emails?

Or, do they expect us to believe that by some incredible accident ONLY Lerner and these other 6 employees emails were lost. We're talking about the prime suspect in the IRS scandal. I don't know who these 6 other employees are, or what their participation (or lack thereof) was in the scandal.

I've worked in IT previously and it's possible to retrieve data from drives that fail....unless the drive has been maliciously tampered with. If that's the case, then this is more evidence of serious criminal action on part of the IRS and a special prosecutor should be appointed immediately.

I'm surprised the IRS went this route. Obviously one or more of those emails had damning evidence in it, or they wouldn't have gone through the trouble of destroying them, and by doing so, bring even more suspicion on itself.

For anyone to continue to say the IRS isn't a big deal, this should cause them to reconsider.
They must really think we are all idiots.

Not surprised at all that they are "seemingly" lost as the IRS was caught colluding with the DOJ and FBI handing over taxpayer data. Gotta hide that trail.

I've seen this before with her husband. Bill Clinton was a master at this. Positioning herself against an unpopular president, yet not quite admitting there was any wrongdoing...despite the "lost" emails, Lerner's abrupt retirement and claim of 5th amend rights. This will play well with Independent voters.

Quote:
Former Secretary of State..Hillary Clinton..says "the investigation needs to continue" into possible wrongdoing at the..Internal Revenue Service..-- a position that puts her at odds with many fellow Democrats.
Quote:
Clinton said there has been a "circus" around the IRS investigation, yet she still called for a continuing probe. "I think not just the president, but anybody who says that is basically saying, you know, the circus around these investigations ... is really kind of confusing what is happening," Clinton told Van Susteren. "And it's important to get back to very professional inquiries that can't be accused of politicizing -- because somebody may be worried about the answer that they get or they don't get -- and let's try to find out what the facts are."

Nikole Flax, whose emails the IRS “lost”, sure visited the White House a lot.

Just had someone correct me and remind me that emails aren't stored on a hard drive. They're stored on a server.

Get the server and you can get the emails.

You wouldn't or shouldn't have to retrieve them, though you often can even under the worse cases. But the fact is they SHOULD have had redundant backups.

Re: IRS and the "Lost" Emails

Sooo... when is anyone going to bring this point up with the IRS, and demand to see the backup of their computers?
