Re: Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship

I don't generally post for obvious reasons however I have attended some of their meetings enjoyed them. I have no intention of joining. They are more open for fellowship with those who are not in their group. I have been treated very kindly. Their directory is online I think?

Re: Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship

Having attended several meetings and knowing certain of their constituency, I would not describe the WPF as conservative. They would be moreso moderates.

The Org that they came out of has went so far to the left that anything looks to the right of them.

It is not a bad thing to some that the WPF is more so moderate, and I am only calling it as i see it.

There are some issues that I am personally seeing in them that bother me, mainly in regards to their open proselyting. I have seen this pattern being repeated over and over in this country and other countries where they have a presence.

Oh.....and just in case you want to know.....I have NEVER heard any UPC bashing at ANY meeting I have ever been to. (And I have been to quite a few)
Bishiop, thanks for the very comprehensive and informative answers to my questions.

Re: Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship

In truth I think there is some disappointment. There were about 2000 at their formation meeting and very few signed up. I think they made some major missteps in their infancy that hindered them. Some men hold credentials with them and are yet in the UPC the districts as of now are allowing it. Many who joined were not UPC men but independent guys. Their growth has not been as rapid as they had hoped I am sure. But their meetings are good, they are visitor friendly, their speaker selection is more flexible they use men to preach who are not members. I have never heard the slightest negative reflection made about the UPC in their meetings. They have made it a point not to follow the path the AMF took. To each his own those who feel the need to belong to something and this fills their criteria then wonderful. Not for me.

I imagine that being independent allows you to fellowship whomever you choose. It is good to know that the WP is not bashing other organizations. That has to be a plus in their direction.

Being Independent does give more latitude on where I go and how long I stay. But when I was in the AMF I fellowshipped who I wanted. Some did not like it but I never did allow them to control me. I guess I am a maverick?
