Again, these are trolls posting on comments. And who knows if they're really Republican anyway. It's mostly annonymous. And we've read the reports of liberals posing as Tea Party people and Republicans waving racist signs and making comments.

This is a non-issue. The Republican Party doesn't need to address this.

The problem is that what we'll call "racial gaffes" seem to be a recurring event within the GOP.

Why do you think the GOP controlled House has yet to come up with anything for Immigration Reform?

Could it be that the only sensible solutions would anger too many of their base suporters-- fragmenting the GOP?

Maybe the powers that be would rather keep the "racial gaffers" and those who they appeal to within the GOP-- somewhat neutralized and not out carrying guerilla warfare on Jewish retirement homes.

Are you serious? Either 1) you really don't follow what Republicans in Congress do; or 2) you're ignoring it because no bill has been passed.

Republicans HAVE submitted bills for Immigration Reform. They HAVE tried passing legislation addressing immigration. The DEMOCRATS have blocked them because they include enforcement of existing law and securing the borders.

It's certainly not because the Republican party is "racist."

I don't know what the GOP has done in regards to Immigration Reform since they have have controlled the House since 2010.

I don't know of one bill passed.

I am sure that if there was one passed, it wasn't comprehensive-- not addressing what to do with the current illegal immigrants already here.

None have passed. Democrats control the Senate, and obama would veto any GOP immigration bill because they address both enforcement and administrative issues.

Even Reagan lamented signing his amnesty bill because you have to address both sides.

I actually agree with you on one thing, and I've posted this before...Bohner is a terrible House Speaker. He has completely failed to speak out and use the poll of public opinion to force Democrats to vote on GOP bills.

The House GOP leadership has allowed obama and the Democrats control the debate for too long. They've kept quiet for the most part and have allowed every major issue to be shaped and controlled by obama, Reid, Pelosi and the Democrats.

I agree they need to speak out more. They need to talk about their proposals more. Stop trying to make deals, just talk to the people and put pressure on the Democrats!

There hasn't been one single Immigration Reform bill to pass the House because the GOP doesn't want to address this issue.

They don't want to address this issue because many Republicans oppose any thing that smacks of amnesty a.k.a "path to citizenship" for the illegals that are here. Doing this would anger the majority of their base.

Would the anger have racial overtones for some? My answer is yes.

The GOP wants to grow, but doesn't know how to deal with the browning of America without offending the racially-minded whites in our party.

If our Party doesn't disown them, our party will not win national elections.

But the reason the GOP should address the racism in our party is bigger than winning national elections.

There are racists that identify as Republican - sure! But it is the Democrats who wholeheartedly support their clearly racist spokesmen. Jesse Jackson, al Sharpton... Incredible what they say and get away with! Even the late Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church did not have his card rescinded when running for office repeatedly on the Democratic ticket.
