No, this statement has never been true, will never be true.

______________

What must one do in order to be saved?

According to the AG, this is not true.

According to the AG, this is true.

Would a better question be what has GOD done in order for anyone to be saved? I know the answer to that question.

You'll have to provide scripture to show this being true. There is no scripture showing that the Holy Ghost is "subsequent" to salvation.

And even if you quoted anything, you are trumped by Romans 8:9 "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." (NIV)

That means you are not a "son of God", you are not "adopted", you are not "saved". Receiving the Holy Ghost is a salvational issue.

Acts 19

1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

So, one scripture trumps another?
