Watch out for some them shady electronics dealers in the City. Make sure your camcorder has a US warranty on it... and they don't charge you for the battery.

hehe, I know all about them...I shop at B&H Photo, one of the biggest & best in the states! There are some shaaaady ones there fo sho!

I'm in the market myself. I'm looking for a good high end consumer or lower end Pro.

It's between the newer version of Canon XL or a Sony. I like the HD factor of Sony, but the interchangeble lenses of the canon. Both need to record 24 fps. I like to shoot in that mode instead of having to post edit it. I might have a BOOM of a business making church TV ads....hahahha

I'd like to find one with the features and quality of a Pro camera but had the video stored on a HDD.

I have a JVC Everio HDD camcorder now and it's ok, but the low light functionality isn't all that great. Video's fuzzy in lower light (basically anything indoors)
