Re: 8 People Baptized in Jesus Name Tonight!

The baptism theme continued at church the rest of this weekend. Today, Sunday 4/28/13, was one of our baptism Sunday's so the normal sermon (we work through the books of the Bible) was set aside for one on baptism.

Between the Friday night baptisms that I started this thread about and the baptisms at our three Sunday services today we have baptized over 40 people in the wonderful name of Jesus this weekend!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

It was so great getting to see several hundred people, (most of them young under 30), crowded around the baptismal tank (some kind of rubbermaid like giant water trough) clapping and getting excited as each person was baptized.
Does your church have a web address?

Here ya go;

Under the "Media/Lessons" tab there are podcasts of services and below that video's of sermons. However I think they are a couple of weeks behind in loading them in so last Sunday's baptism service sermon is not on there yet.
