What I'd like to know is......let's say we captured a terrorist on our soil who knew where a nuclear devise was that was going to detonate in 24 hours. Are some of you telling me that it would not be justifiable to use whatever means possible to extract that information from him, including threatening his family? I would get the information however I could get it. War is rough. If you step into the middle of it, you are in for better or for worse. My husband, who served in the Air Force, said that "More than likely, I would do whatever to get the information."

I was referring to our military being more civilized than some other nations... Sometimes to our own detriment, but I think Iraq has changed some things.

that is a very ethnocentric generalization. what do you mean by civilized? islam had math and science before us and preserved the ancient texts of greek civilization for the west. china has a long history of ethics in their confucian philosophy. i think only africa and india have primitive religious and social class beliefs, but it wasn't long ago that america didn't have women's suffrage and had racist jim crow policies of its' own. can you expound a little bit on how exactly are we more civilized, what countries are less civilized and in what way or were you just spewing groundless right wing pontifications with no basis in fact?

I am talking about our reputation as soldiers. We, overall, have a good reputation regardless of the media bias.. I've talked to men in uniform who told me how they were and are received in Iraq and Afghanistan. The people are glad they are there and know they are there to help.

I don't care what the Daily Beast or CNN is telling you. I've talked to people in the military myself who have been there and are still serving. I personally know someone who works at Ft Erwin. He told me that 75-80% of the returning soldiers want to go back, because they feel they are helping the people. AND that the people trust them.

Yes, I just watched it. I don't see a problem here. I agree with the soldier that it's their fault for bringing the children into a war zone. Incidentally, the solider in the video was running with a child in his arms to obtain some medical attention. That is who our soldiers are.

Let's talk about your President who is about to use Executive Order on the gun issue that was voted down yesterday. He needs to be deported to Cuba, it looks like to me.
